Project: Interactive 3d Security Game

Overview

Invendev was contracted to build this five-level game to help educate employees on security issues in an interesting and realistic manner. We scripted the game story and all character dialog along with custom graphics, interactivity, 3d animation, sound, and video. A "mission impossible" theme was chosen for the storyline which revolves around Corporate Security's training and selection of team members for an elite group.

Custom designed user interface

We built virtual worlds where a learner can interact and experience potentially dangerous situations without harm. Once the basic "mission" is laid out the learner is taken through five levels of instruction and assessment all while earning achievements for each level completed.

3d Staging and Animation

Invendev constructed complete scenes with characters to enhance the learner's immersive interactive experience. Each scenario has varying levels of detail depending on learning objectives for that scene. Some scenes are rendered as flat, non-textured, basic recreations, while others are completely realistic with lighting, shadows, textures and props.

Characters

We went way beyond the simple 3d characters used in past projects and built custom 3d characters for all of the scenarios paying strict attention to pose, dress, body characterisitics.

Sound

Invendev set the mood with music, created custom sound effects to complement presentation and interactivity, and used professional voice talent to increase the reality of the scenarios.

Interactivity

A simple user interface enhanced gameplay that included drag and drop, panning, and learner navigation. Thorough consideration was given to when, where, and why the learner is interacting with the game.

Video

Video was used extensively and seamlessly to bring the project to life and more give detailed instruction to the five levels of gaming.
